VENICE REQUIEM - FISHEYE EXPERIMENTAL FILM & VIDEO FESTIVAL - EXTRA - FESTIVAL DEL CINEMA DI ROMA

ROMA venerdì 16.10.2009 alle ore 20:30 al Nuovo Cinema Aquila, anteprima mondiale di (venice) requiem il nuovo video di César Meneghetti, un omaggio alla curatrice Irma Arestizàbal, girato a giugno in collaborazione con il padiglione Latino-Americano della Biennale di Venezia.

(venice) requiem è un breve video-memoriale che segue le tracce di una memoria mai vissuta. La rivisitazione improvvisa di presente e passato, beneficio e perdita genera un’esperienza transitoria che suscita dislocazione e spaesamento. Il movimento finisce con il rappresentare l’eternità della coscienza. E il viaggio verso la città avita, crea un collegamento intimo fra l’esperienza soggettiva e una percezione altra.

(venice) requiem è il primo video realizzato all’interno del progetto artistico beloved ones.

IV INTER-AMERICAN BIENNIAL OF VIDEO ART IN ROME

ROME Thursday 17.09.2009 at the IILA Gallery, Scuderie del Palazzo Santa Croce, a selection of the best videos of the IV INTER-AMERICAN BIENNIAL OF VIDEO ART. The Biennal launched in Washington last December is travelling in several capitals in more than 20 countries in Latin America and will be shown for the first time in Europe at the IILA - Istituto Italo-Latinoamericano. Between the selected videos, César Meneghetti shows “Les terra's di nadie" (No-one’s Land, Brazil/Italy, 2007), one of the winners of the Fourth Edition, a conceptual piece that focuses on social and political events that invade the reality of the world today. The entire selection of 25 videos representing 13 countries in the region, plus Puerto Rico, were chosen by an international jury among 201 submissions by artists from 15 countries.
