CESAR MENEGHETTI @ 55TH VENICE BIENNALE

VENICE.  World preview on  29th, 30th and 31st May of the exhibition I\O _ IO È UN ALTRO \ JE EST UN AUTRE \ I IS AN OTHER \ EU É UMOUTRO \ YO ERES UN OTRO \ ICH IST EIN ANDERER at the 55th INTERNATION ARTEXHIBITION - LA BIENNALE DI VENEZIA - NATIONAL PARTICIPATIONS - Kenya Pavilion. This last CESAR MENEGHETTI work started in 2010 in collaboration with the art labs of the community of Sant'Egidio and explores the concept of alterity and how this change our perception/visibility of the world. The biennale show will  produced in collaboration of Community of Sant'Egidio and  supported by Embaixada do Brasil em Roma and IILA - Instituto Italo-latinoamericano. The project is curated by Simonetta Lux and Alessandro Zuccari, commissioner Antonio Arevalo, the Kenya Pavilion is curated by Sandro Orlandi and Paola Poponi. The show will be on for the public from June 1st to 24th November 2013.

CESAR MENEGHETTI @ LOOP BARCELONA

LOOP-BARCELONA.16-25 May 2013. CESAR MENEGHETTI is presenting at the SCREEN Festival, a festival for contemporary art practices related to video, film and new media of Barcelona. It was conceived in 2003 to offer a unique viewing experience together with LOOP Fair, the professional meeting point for commercial galleries related to artists’ video and film. The screening will be on 18 and 19 May at La Plataforma in the selection of poetics and politics  - Al of Us - that presents a diversity of personal approaches to various political themes. Some artists use visual metaphors to raise awareness; some, stress the need to remember crucial events; others, directly provoke situations with the aim to promote change. They deal with more than specific political issues. They raise another tricky question: which is the role of the artist in contemporary society? Is it a utopian (or pretentious) project to see art as an engine to change the fabric of our world? Or is it a necessity?

MANIZALES. April 15 to 19, 2013. The  12th InternationalImage Festival is a meeting and debate space on issues related to electronic arts, digital audiovisual creation, digital and electro-acoustic sound, and rising relationships among art, design, science and technology.

César Meneghetti will be present in a Miguel Petchkovsky's selection of videos by contemporary artists, making contemporary moving image practices have expanded aesthetic definitions to include deep interactive and generative systems that produce self-reflected sensibilities and responsive audience engagement of meaning and content.
