Promoted by EUCREA (Verband Kunst und Behinderung) the meeting is aiming a sustainable utopia of a future society, the creative people with disability grants extensive chances and opportunities to train their abilities to develop and use professionally. CESAR MENEGHETTI “AT HEAVEN’S DOOR” CYBERFEST 2012

SAN PETERSBURG. From November 23-28, 2012 over 80 artists, groups and collectives represent more than 20 countries in Russia’s largest annual New Media Festival, CYBERFEST held at: St Petersburg, Russia at: The State Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg State University, Creative Space Tkachi, Art re.FLEX Gallery, Frants Gallery Space. For the 6th Annual Edition, CYBERFEST 2012 explores the impacts of art and technology on society’s future through a 6 day multidisciplinary event titled “AT HEAVEN’S DOOR”. Exhibits, events and performances across St Petersburg’s top cultural venues present varied perspectives on the physical state of international New Media and the metaphysical directions it leads society.
The program includes a survey of Brazil Video Art by César Meneghetti (Brazil),  Rachel Rosalen (Brazil), Alex Villar (Brazil–USA), Fernanda d'Agostino (USA), Fernado Velazquez (Brazil), Carolina Redondo (Chile), Angie Bonino (Peru),  Sergio Ulhoa (Brazil), Mat Rappaport (USA) / Curated by Miguel Petchkovsky Morais (Brazil–Netherlands).

CÉSAR MENEGHETTI'S CURATORSHIP @ MUSEUM OF ROME IN TRASTEVERE

ROME. From 21st November to 09th December 2012 Marianna Caprioletti’s solo exhibition DUPLICAZIONE TRADUZIONE TRASFORMAZIONE  on show at the Museum of Rome in Trastevere. A significant retrospective of Caprioletti’s work including 71 drawings and paintings on paper. It proposes to approach art independently of pre-concepts, investigating the border of normality with an astonishing, surprising and representative selection of works of some of the Art Lab authors with mental disabilities. This first solo show was born parallel to I\O IO E’ UN ALTRO project is divided in 3 acts (Duplication Translation Transformation) for each period, proposal and technique and also includes an extended analysis on History of Art, a 2 channel video and a portrait of Marianna. Curated by César Meneghetti by invitation of Simonetta Lux and Alessandro Zuccari DUPLICAZIONE TRADUZIONE TRASFORMAZIONE had also the support and collaboration of several researchers and Historians of Art: Antonella Antezza, Cristina Cannelli, Giorgia Lanino, Giovanna Tavazzi, Vittorio Scelzo.

CÉSAR MENEGHETTI'S LECTURE @ UNIVERSITY OF ROME

ROMA. October 19th @ 4 PM, César Meneghetti's lecture at University of Rome La Sapienza (MLAC) at the M.A. contemporary art curator's course. He talks about his major works, viewing and commenting starting from 1989's VIDEOSKETCH N.5  to the present (I\O project).

ABSTRACTA - INTERNATIONAL ABSTRACT CINEMA EXHIBITION

ROMA. September 24th-26th César Meneghetti is part of the international jury of ABSTRACTA - INTERNATIONAL ABSTRACT CINEMA EXHIBITION, which aim to promote and disseminate the abstract and experimental films in Italy and abroad, emphasizing in films from European countries, from  artists, filmmakers, experts and young emerging authors. Directed by Valentina Dominici (curator) and Massimo Pistone (chairman) ABSTRACTA, in its past editions were also presented in New York, Cairo, Marseille, Bangkok, Chieri and Vienna. The only Abstract Festival in Italy is resuming an interrupted tradition, after the last  abstract cinema exhibition of 1951 in Liege, Belgium, organized by Jean Raine (Cobra artist), and attended by artists and filmmakers such as Leger, Duchamp, Dulac, Ernst, Veronesi, Richter, Henry Moore and many others. 

The 2012 edition will be held at Campo Boario, at the Padiglione dell'Accademia delle Belle Arti  di Roma (Academy of Fine Arts Pavilion) in Testaccio.

CESAR MENEGHETTI @ N MINUTES VIDEO ART FESTIVAL 2012 N 分钟影像艺术节

SHANGHAI. September 8th César Meneghetti is on show at N MINUTES VIDEO ART FESTIVAL in China in a selection of works made by Miguel Petchkovsky in Video Guerrilla Brazil. The 2nd N-Minutes Video Art Festival will open on September 7th in the main venue of CITIC Square on West Nanjing Rd, Shanghai. Stationed there is the N-Box video room designed by artists. Nearly 30 artists are invited both from home and abroad along with 50 video works to be displayed during the one-month festival. N-Minutes will work with art institutions, art museums, galleries, and creative parks to put forward video shows and lectures, etc. N-Minutes was founded in 2011 by curator Li Ningchun. Since then, it is held every year from September to October in Shanghai. With various art activities including Screening, Mapping, Performance, Exhibition and Forum, N- Minutes weaves video arts into urban life and interacts with the public, enabling a new possibility of public art.

N 分钟影像艺术节是一个艺术破墙的公共艺术项目。由独立策展人黎宁春于2011年创立，每年9月至10月在上海举办，通过举办一系列如影像放映、户外墙体投 影、音乐与表演、展览与论坛活动的实践，将影像类艺术创作形态延伸至公众生活可触及的城市空间，形成跨界互动，从而实践策展人对艺术介入公共空间的实验性 探索，诠释公共艺术的新的可能.

 evento speciale premio nell'ambito delle Giornate degli Autori - 69. Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica di Venezia, incontro con CESAR MENEGHETTI, ELISABETTA PANDIMIGLIO, FABIO ROSI presentano un video collettivo inedito ispirato su tre romanzi selezionati tra i tanti titoli della nostra banca dati della Calipso BookCiak,  che contiene la narrativa italiana più "cinematografabile": Vecchi nodi di Matteo Martone, Il riporto di Adrian Bravi e L´aria della Gioconda di Roberto Piumini. Un video dal libro senza passare per il film. Con Cristina Elias e Fabio Rosi, musica di Leigh Thomas. La Giornata degli Autori della 69. Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica di Venezia si inaugura il 29 agosto e si conclude il 8 settembre 2012.

CÉSAR MENEGHETTI > PREMIO GLOBO TRICOLORE

GUALDO TADINO. Sabato 7 di Luglio 2012 in Umbria CÉSAR MENEGHETTI riceve il premio Globo Tricolore per il suo più recente progetto intitolato I\O _IO È UN ALTRO un lavoro artistico multidisciplinare che vuole indagare questioni legate all'esistenza e alla labilità della frontiera della normalità su e con un gruppo di 200 persone che frequentano i laboratori d’arte della Comunità di Sant’Egidio a Roma. CESAR MENEGHETTI artista e cineasta italo-brasiliano nato a San Paolo realizza da più di 20 anni un lavoro crossmedia tra arte e cinema in Inghilterra, Italia e Brasile. Il progetto  IO È UN ALTRO è curato da Simonetta Lux (Storica dell'arte e fondatrice del MLAC - Museo Laboratorio di Arte Contemporanea della Università Roma La Sapienza) e ha un comitato scientifico composto da Alessandro Zuccari (Docente di Storia dell'Arte Moderna della Università Roma La Sapienza), Cristina Cannelli e Antonella Antezza (responsabili dei laboratori d’arte della Comunità di Sant’Egidio). Il percorso del progetto, che dura quasi tre anni, è in fase di conclusione che si cristallizzerà  in una grande mostra finale in Italia e all'estero. Il progetto inoltre ha avuto una presentazione ufficiale alla Biennale Session alla 54. Biennale D'arte di Venezia e ha ricevuto il Premio Brasil Arte Contemporanea della Fondazione Biennale di San Paolo e Ministero della Cultura del Brasile.

CESAR MENEGHETTI @ IMAGEM-CONTATO: Mostra de Imagem em Movimento

SÃO PAULO. From 19th to 29th July 2012 the festival IMAGEM-CONTATO: Mostra de Imagem em Movimento proposes to approach the materiality and handcrafted in the art of moving image, investigating possible strands or trends, and expanding the concept of materiality beyond material. Curated by Kika Nicolela With the collaboration of Gabriel Soucheyre [Videoformes] the program includes mini-retrospectives with representative works of the pioneer artists Norman McLaren, Nam June Paik, Jan Svankmayer and Zbigniew Rybczynski, a range of works of other celebrated artists, such as Gunvor Nelson, Bill Viola, Gary Hill and Pipilotti Rist, and a selection of works by Brazilian and international contemporary artists, including César Meneghetti.

The projections will take place in São Paulo at SESC Vila Mariana, SESC Pinheiros, SESC Ipiranga, SESC Belenzinho and CineSESC. There will also be a container with a daily schedule in looping, which will be placed in 3 different public locations in the city. In addition, a selection of works will be part of SescTV broadcast program during the 10 days of the Mostra SESC de Artes.

CESAR MENEGHETTI @ 48A MOSTRA INTERNAZIONALE DEL NUOVO CINEMA DI PESARO

PESARO. Il 28 Giugno 2012 alle ore 22, César Meneghetti presenta 10 lavori tra video, film, arte e documentario nella Rassegna Round Midnight a cura di Antonio Pezzuto. Le serate al Palazzo Gradari avranno un intero programma dedicato alla video arte e al cinema a venire. La 48a Mostra Internazionale del Nuovo Cinema di Pesaro diretta da Giovanni Spagnoletti  vuole proporre un ritratto dell’Italia contemporanea sia attraverso una completa retrospettiva dell’opera di Nanni Moretti, sia con un’ampia scelta di documentari che analizzano l'Italia. La storica Mostra fondata da Lino Micciché divenne dal 1964 un punto di riferimento mondiale del rinnovamento cinematografico, con la partecipazione tra gli altri di Joris Ivens, Roberto Rosselini, Cesare Zavattini, Jean-Marie Straub, Bernardo Bertolucci, Jonas Mekas, Jerzy Skolimowsky, Jean-Luc Godard, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Glauber Rocha tra altri.

ATHENS 06.06.2012. CESAR MENEGHETTI take part by the second time of the 5th edition of TIO ILAR in Greece with 2 recent paintings and the video K7. TIO ILAR is a collective exhibition, opening common denominator of all the artists at is that they create because they find it impossible not to create. All participating creators are defined from forces inside them and eventually they define the forces outside them. From 6-20 June 2012.

Quinta-Feira 15.03.2012 às 19h inauguração da mostra THIS_PLACEMENTS V.2.0 de César Meneghetti na Estação Cabo Branco Ciência, Cultura e Artes. A obra, vencedora do Prêmio FUNARTE de Arte Contemporânea 2011, será inaugurada no complexo arquitetonico criado por Oscar Niemayer na Paraíba inaugurando o primeiro ciclo de mostras em parceria com o MinC - Funarte. A video-instalação de 4 canais sua segunda etapa revisionada especialmente para o complexo arquitetônico projetado por Niemeyer, propõe um diálogo entre diferentes culturas através da arte, da livre interpretação sobre diferentes realidades: África, Europa, Ásia e América vistas simultaneamente, a partir de um percurso imaginário. A característica fundamental da mídia arte é que ela, efetivamente, é aquela que melhor consegue traduzir e interpretar a tensão invisível dentro do nosso contexto contemporâneo, marcado por conflitos econômicos, étnicos e sociais. Este fator é também o que distingue o trabalho de alguns artistas que usam essa ferramenta de uma forma política como CÉSAR MENEGHETTI. Ao fazer uma fusão pouco visível entre áreas geográficas do ocidente e oriente ele coloca em discussão conceitos pertinentes ao audiovisual como a veracidade e a realidade, produzindo uma operação de subversão à ordem do real. Encontro com o artista e público no dia 15 de Março às 15h.

This last CESAR MENEGHETTI work started in 2010 and explores the relationship between art, media, social relational work, mental disability and how this change our perception/visibility of the world. César Meneghetti Digitalia conference will be held in the auditorium of the Salvador's Goethe Institute at 9:00 PM (-3 h). DIGITALIA 2012 will include 129 works and relators of different backgrounds from Brazil and abroad.

Na África "K_lab interacting on the reality interface", na Europa "Venice (Requiem)", na Ásia "This_Orient" e o novo video realizado em Recife (América).  César Meneghetti coloca em mostra os conceitos e percursos que determinaram a construção da sua obra e ao mesmo tempo estabelece um dialogo com o público, artistas e curadores locais, entre eles: Beth da Matta (MAMAM-PE), Bruno Monteiro (Coletivo Branco do Olho) e Yann Beauvois (Galeria B3), Reinaldo Freire (FUNARTE-NE).
